Larry Edward Maxwell, affectionately known as “Skip,” passed away on March 3, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family and friends. He was 76 years old.
Born on November 4, 1949, he grew up in Lisle, IL. Skip’s life was a testament to dedication, humility, and an unwavering care for those around him. His steady presence, strong values, and ways of expressing love were evident in every aspect of his life. While his closest family and friends were always the top priority, his heart extended to anyone who crossed his path. Whether he knew you or not, to him, no one was ever a stranger.
Throughout his life, he took pride in treating people with fairness and respect. These values permeated every role he held as a father, grandfather, brother, devoted partner, and friend, and they will continue to shape the legacy he leaves behind.
He found solace in simple pleasures such as spending time with his family and friends and especially engaging in conversations. These moments will forever be cherished by those who knew him.
Skip was preceded by his mother Trella, his father William, and his younger brother Randy. He is survived by his former spouse, Terri and their sons, Shawn, Nicholas, and Daniel; his older brother, Gary; his devoted partner, Bea, her daughter Leah, and grandson River; Shawn’s wife, Elaine; and his three beautiful granddaughters, Emma, Zofia, and Eliza. He is also celebrated and remembered by extended family and friends who were touched by his kindness and generosity.
Larry “Skip” Maxwell will be deeply missed, but his love, guidance, and spirit will forever reside in the hearts of those who knew him. His life was a gift, and his memory will continue to bless us all.
