3/15/1948-2/11/2026
Barbara Lee Wohlleber Shuptrine, 77, of Signal Mountain, Tennessee, went home to be with her Lord on February 11, 2026, surrounded by her loving children and grandchildren.
Barbara was born on March 15, 1948, in Syracuse, NY, to Frederick and Marian Wohlleber.
Barbara was first and foremost a loving and ever-present mother and grandmother. She provided each of her cherished family members with unconditional love and unwavering support. She was always the calm and steady force who drew her family together and guided them through any storm, teaching us all to lean on our faith. She loved to cook, laugh, listen, and, most of all, spend time in the company of her loved ones.
She worked as a caregiver on Signal Mountain for many years. She was known for her patience, kindness, and her ability to brighten any room or situation with her natural warmth and care.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, James Shuptrine; daughter, Kelly Adams; sister, Carol Wonderlich; parents, Frederick and Marian Wohlleber; and mother-in-law, Iris Davis.
Barbara is survived by her children, Scott (Theresa) Davis and Tony (Kevin) Davis-Thrailkill; grandchildren, Taylor Adams, Lindy Brunjak, Jake Davis, Sam Davis, Payton Davis, Charlie Garza and Nicholas Davis-Thrailkill; two great-grandchildren; siblings, Marilyn (Frank) Harris and Dale (Kristi) Wohlleber; four nephews; and best friend, Sandra White.
A private service will be held at a later date to honor her memory.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Breakthrough T1D (formerly the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) in Barbara’s memory: http://www2.breakthrought1d.org/goto/barbara
To our amazing and beloved Momma/Granny/Gummy: You were that rare and remarkable human who made everyone feel truly seen, accepted, and deeply loved, regardless of their situation. You forged unique and unbreakable bonds, became that go-to “person” for each of us, and ensured that your legacy of selflessness, connection, and love lives on in all of us. Though you may be gone from our sight, the love you created and surrounded us with will remain a lasting and guiding imprint on our hearts forever.
